Hello for South Jersey, fellow nerds

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm Zach From New Jersey, and I just discovered this wonderful gem of a website. 1 year ago, I was around 185lbs (I'm only 5'6"), could do about 5 push-ups, couldn't run for more than a minute, and was generally a lump in front of my computer most of the time. Now however, I am still a lump at my computer (of course, still a nerd!), but not as bad as I was back then.

In May, I began working out (push-up from my knees, crunches, etc) and began jogging in June (well, jog/walking). Now I can run about 6-7 miles non-stop (at about 8:25 a mile, 7:00 mile is my quickest), do 30 push-ups in a set, and am down to around 155lbs. I've also inspired my brother, and a couple friends to begin doing the same as well.

Now for this summer, I hope to get down to 145ish, as well as work on pull-ups and generally getting more fit.

Just wanted to give a little background on my situation. I hope to be a contributing member of this community in the coming moths. Thank you for your time!

Hey man, welcome aboard! Awesome to see some concrete goals and progress! If you are interested, we are starting another Challenge in around 2 weeks, and you (and all other newbies, the rest of you reading this!) should definitely join. It's a great way to get to meet some of our Rebels, and stay accountable. Also, if my memory serves me right, for the first time ever, we're doing a 6 week challenge. An Epic Challenge for Epic Results!

So! What do you think is the single greatest contributor to your success thusfar?
