Broke the 200lb barrier on the bench. squee?

Recommended Posts

Today I did 200 lbs X 5 for 1 set and then 200 lbs X 3 for another set and deloaded on the 3rd to 195 lbs X 5.

I didn't manage a perfect 3 X 5 on 200 lbs but I broke the barrier and it feels damn good. It was a long time in coming especially after I had to deload to 155 after my 2 month hiatus when I went home.

squee. :)

Contrary to what many think, the bench uses a lot of arms/back/abs rather than just pecs.  Regardless, benches and OHP's make your shoulders big!  Just remember the pullups and rows too to keep things balanced fore and aft.

Warriors don't count reps and sets. They count tons.

Yep ! I intersperse all my compound barbell lifts with pull ups/ chin ups between every working set and alternate Pendlay rows with power cleans. :)
