Sympathy weight - the weight gained by the partner when their wife is gaining pregnancy weight

You know its bad when we in our culture have lables for the weight we gain durring milestones in life such as going to college (freshman 15), getting our first big kid job (google 15), and fathering children (sympathy weight).  I would love to blame all my weight gain on "sympathy weight" but its just not true; I was getting fat before she got pregnant.  A little over a month ago I found the Rebellion and I refuse to be fat dad.  I am happy to say that after 1 month of Rebelling I am down 10 pounds and even more exciting my wife is down 5 lbs from her pre pregnancy weight!  The Rebellion is changing not just my life but my family's lives as well! THANK YOU!

Nice Work!

Family fitness for the win!

This used to be where  my weight loss progress bar was. Maybe it will be here again when I'm ready to face the scale and work on my fat problem.

I thought sympathy weight was a load of crap too until my wifes last pregnancy. I didn't change any eating habits or exercise habits and I gained 35 pounds over the nine month period. One month after birth again, without changing anything about myself I lost the exact same 35 pounds. It was extremely weird.
