Finally made the switch to a standing desk at work

Recommended Posts

I converted my desk a few weeks ago, but I still need to get an anti-fatigue mat. I have a server room chair that I use when I have to do a lot of typing but I try to stand as much as possible. My problem is that standing makes me fidgety, and I find it harder to concentrate, particularly when I am trying to read/write. Maybe I just need to get used to it.

I wasn't even aware this was a thing! Would you be able to post a photo up when it's done JaysFreaky? I stand all day at work making sushi (highest bench in the shop, better for my height), cooking, or doing dishes. I find cooking and dishes are worst on my posture and back because they are quite low down. Is there a recommended working bench height? I'm 6 foot >.o Makes me giggle a little that I would give almost anything to be able to sit down once every couple of hours at work whereas it is a goal for you to do the opposite hehe :) Good on you!

I'd like to try a stand up desk at work, I wonder if my office would accomodate if I requested it.. the required monitor height may be an issue, I assume the monitors are supposed to be at eye level. The original post here is pretty old, I'd like to hear if JaysFreaky is still using it!
