Fun stuff in Denver?

So my cousin and I will be in Denver for a Tough Mudder in a couple weeks, but we'll have a few days afterward to explore. Does anyone have recommendations on cool stuff to do there?

OMG yes.

 

Denver Museum of Nature and Science - http://www.dmns.org/  Exactly what it says on the tin.  Super cool exhibits, as well as IMAX and planetarium.

 

Denver Art Museum - http://www.denverartmuseum.org/  Two buildings full of all kinds of art, from Pre-Colombian Native American artifacts to very modern installations.

 

Denver Zoo - http://www.denverzoo.org/  It's a zoo and it's awesome.

 

Museum of Contemporary Art Denver - http://www.mcadenver.org/ Modern art and design, with fun events like drinks on the roof and tag-team lectures about unrelated topics.

 

Or, leave Denver and go northwest to Boulder.  Wander around.  Go to Chautauqua Park and hike.  Hang out on the Pearl St. Mall.  DRINK ALL THE MICROBREWS!

I have to admit being intrigued by the boulder stuff. I love hiking, so that sounds perfect!

It's a link to tons of information about the trails in the city's Open Space & Mountain Parks department.  It has trailheads, maps, info on fees (though most trails don't charge) and bathrooms and nearby trails.

Denver has some of the best beer in the world. Visit as many breweries as you can. I suggest Great Divide, Denver Beer Co, Strange Brewing, and Dry Dock Brewing. That said, I haven't been to that many I don't like around town.

 

Visit Ft Collins, too. They have amazing breweries as well, and some awesome day hikes and such.
