wildross
My sister in law (Sharon Wildman) is doing a photo blog of activity on the family farm. http://avalonfarmsohio.com This farm (which we call Avalon for unknown reasons) was settled 7 generations ago in 1814 by a Wildman family that moved from Virginia to south west Ohio. The land they settled (with numerous additions) has been continuously farmed by my family every since. Sharon and Rich sold part of their land to a Dutch dairyman several years ago and most of their crops are used to feed the dairy cows (that was part of the deal). My younger brother Chuck Wildman (who has the other half of the farm) raises pigs. He blogs at http://acornsforthought.blogspot.com/ His son Samuel blogs at http://ohiofarmkid.blogspot.com/ These are both large 'modern' farms, with college educated family farmers running them. Browse around the photos (particularly on the first blog) and I think you will be surprised at some of what you see (watching the NBA finals in the tractor while mowing the hay being one of them). While I'm not involved in the farm any longer, I will gladly explain anything that you see and attempt to answer any questions you have. Quote Warriors don't count reps and sets. They count tons.
