chiz89
Here goes... I buy lots and lots of chicken from a near by farm for £5 per kg which is really cheap.. When i cook 2kg it weighs 1.5kg when cooked. If the packet says 23g of protein per 100g is that raw or cooked? For example will the 1.5kg of chicken when cooked have the same amount of protein as the 2kg of un cooked chicken? Quote Link to comment
Unit562
be safe and say when cooked. cooking just looses water - no protein in water. chiz89
So lets say i have1kg of un cooked chicken, if i cook it and it weighs 800g i would have less than 1kg worth of protein? Confused! Quote Link to comment
Wolverine
Using your example, 1 kg of uncooked chicken would have the same protein content as 800 g of cooked chicken. Packet is according to the raw weight so weigh before you cook and use those numbers in your diet journal. Quote Wolverine Level X Mutant Link to comment
