cassandrarb
Hello! I'm Cassandra. I'm currently a fairly active 24 year old, looking to become fit. I recently finished Insanity but made no diet changes; I felt good, was definitely stronger, but I did not actually *see* any significant results. I used to be very fit, then I graduated college and started a great new job at a start up. As is true with most start ups, I work very long hours and they provide me with one too many excellent perks (including free, unlimited access to lots of snacks, alcohol, soda, etc.)--this results in me sitting for 9-10 hours a day while snacking on various things I have no business putting in my body. I'm a frequent con-goer and cosplayer, when I realized I wasn't looking so great in a few of my cosplays I knew I had to make an immediate change. This started about 6 months ago. I'm in much better shape today, but I know I can improve and be in the best shape of my life with a little bit of commitment and effort. Over the next 70 days I have a four goals I'm hoping (planning) on achieving: I. Complete Focus T25 without missing a workout (rescheduling is allowed, because, well life happens).II. Start and stick to the Paleo diet for at least 30 days, assuming I feel well/experience positive results, I will continue for the remaining 40 days of my personal challenge.III. Take a 15 minute walk everyday instead of getting up to snack/have a beer in my company lounge.IV. Finish teaching myself JavaScript and jQuery (not fitness-related, but overall life-related). Honestly, my largest concern with this plan is the Paleo portion--and not the food aspect. I'm not particularly addicted to any food types or anything, but I do go out quite a bit and drink a couple of nights a week. I'm hoping to find some way to still go out with my friends and have a good time at bars--I haven't exactly figured out how this will fit into my 70-day plan yet. Any assistance, advice, comments, etc. on that front would be much appreciated. No power in the 'verse can stop me. First Challenge: Drop 2 Jean Sizes. Link to comment

wideeyed
I'll let people who drink chime in - but when I got sober, I still went out quite a bit with friends. I drank club soda with a splash of juice and a twist. Looked like a cocktail, wasn't loaded with sugar like a soft drink, and kept me sober. Maybe you could do wine spritzers? White wine and club soda with or without a twist? At any rate - it's 30 days, and you only have to deal with one of them at a time. I've learned I can pretty much do anything for a day.
