Hi all,

 

My name is Amber, I am 34, and I am looking to finally get back in shape.  I think the high point for me was around 2009/2010 when I had a steady work out partner and we motivated each other to go to the gym, run, etc. even when one or both of us thought that we didn’t feel like working out.  Of course, being active duty Air Force means I no longer live anywhere close to her anymore, and where I am stationed now I don’t work with any girls that show an interest in free weights (though I am trying to convince my husband to lift with me).   

 

My daily life consists of somewhat steady work hours, with the exception being the month of September for reasons, gaming (WoW and Rift usually), and working on my Bachelor’s. 

 

My battle plan?  Lift things again!  Work on my mile and a half run time.  Lose this fat I’ve picked up.  Eat healthy and stick with it.  Meet new people that are awesome, share common interests, and don't make fun of the fact that I am huge nerd.

 

As for what I plan to bring to the table: motivation, persistence, and the sense of humor people tell me I have once I stop being shy (but I am shy on the internets too :redface:).

 

2 hours until gym time!

It's great to have you with us :) Especially as you're a nerd, AND that we'll get to see a sense of humour :D
