ajbeans Posted July 21, 2011 Report Share Posted July 21, 2011 Hi guys! I've been following the Nerd Fitness blog for a while now, but this is my first venture into the forums. Looks like a nice place. A few things about me: I'm a married mother of two. I have a BA in English literature. Absolutely useless for getting a job around here. I had planned to pursue my MA and eventually my PhD, but we got pregnant when I "took a semester break." :shock: I turn 30 at the end of August. I never even thought I'd make it to 30. I just recently learned how to eat salad. Yummy! I overuse smileys. :eek: This time last year I was fat and tired, but since January I've lost 25 pounds, so now I'm not fat anymore, and I'm not as tired. But I'm still not as strong as I'd like, and I'm too squishy for my taste. That's why I'm here. I have a better handle on eating and staying active, but now I'd like to really focus on burning the fat and gaining muscle. I'd like to do so without having to go to a gym, and I know it's more than possible if I buckle down and just DO it. So... that's me in a nutshell. Kain Posted July 21, 2011 Report Share Posted July 21, 2011 Welcome! Remember that if you focus on gaining muscle, you're fat will burn off (or so I'm told). I am sure you are more than capable to workout without a gym membership or a gym at all. Quote Time to climb. Link to comment
