I found this forum through the nerd fitness blog and after doing some reading around on here love the premise and the support! I am not new to fitness but am still learning and loving life along the way! Here is alittle bit about myself, I am a 26 year old Ag Equipment specialist and single father of two. In april 2012 i had a photo taken of me at a friends birthday party that made me go WHOA!! I was 280 lbs and disgusting (atleast i thought). The next week i layed out a plan of attack and hardened my resolve to make it work. I wouldnt classify my diet along the way as anything more than " stop eating like a hog " I didnt starve myself and enjoyed the journey. I pretty much just did p90x ( 5 times total now ) and running alot ( 10k's by nov 2012). That was untill ..... January 7th 2013 I was faced with a fight or flight situation at work where i had to jump down off a machine roughly five feet into the air on icey ground or risk potential hydraulic injection poisoning . I chose jump immediately , and tore my acl , both meniscus and mcl in my left knee. From january 7th to march i did not walk on my own . I had surgery in febuary 7th to replace the acl and remove 3/4 of my meniscus on the inside and outside of the joint. Did that stop me ? Heck no! two days after my injury i called my dad and asked him to bring me over the total gym that was taking up space in his garage and we set it up in my dining room, i soon came up with a plan for working out using this and my pull up bar. I went from 230lb in january to 200 while not having use of my leg. I still have knee problems , range of motion(5 degrees to 115 bending ) c an not run more than 1/2 mile or do high impact training without regretting it for a week, but i make it work and am down to 195lbs. For as long as i can remember i have been the heavy kid , not remembering a time i weighed less than 200 pounds since sixth grade ! I still have trouble areas to work on and am looking forward to trying paleo and getting even more fit.Heres alittle photo montage , hope to see some of you around and getting involved with the forums !
