Hi Everyone,

I am a 53 year old mother of three and grandmother of two.  I have wrestled with my weight and body image since the age of seventeen, generally hovering around 20lbs overweight.  At one point in my life, in the midst of raising three children as a single mom, I was near 200 lbs.  I am 5'4" and currently 155 lbs, up from 135 lbs two years ago, and I need to get fit before it keeps raising. I've never been a sedentery person but after hip surgery two years ago I just haven't gotten my momentum back except for dance classes.  I am spending way too much time on my couch. I am tired of being tired and want to feel healthy and strong again. I have many stressors in my life, as many of us do, and I can feel it crushing my body.  I know that exercise and a good diet is the best way to combat it. So here I am.

I was introduced to this site by a Nerd Fitness member that I have the pleasure of knowing through dance classes.  Her body is an advertisement for fitness, she simply looks amazing, strong and healthy.  I read through the site last week and it is just what I have been looking for.  I am excited to join the community and looking forward to it changing my life.  I am starting with the Begginer Bodyweight Workout every other day and daily yoga stretching routine in addition to my dance classes that I attend three days a week. Once I feel strong within this routine I will move onto the next level.  I am going to measure myself and take photos along the way, stay off the scale for the most part, and watch the transformation happen!

Welcome September, from someone in the Centrum Silver sect. I'm new around these boards too, and on the beginner exercise circuit. I'm motivated to keep fit and wish you success in your objectives.

Hi Enoch, Hawqsquatch and SillyAnneh and thanks for the warm welcome.  It's great to be aboard!   I've had a good start this week.  I can only make it through two rounds of the beginner circuit but yesterday I could already feel more strength within it.  Starting Sunday I will be able to bump it up to all three rounds.  :)
