New Girl, New City, New Habits

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, first time poster here! I'm a 22 year old beer loving, dessert-haulic girl who is ready to make changes.

Growing up I was average sized only thanks to sports, but after an injury (plantar fasciitis), going to college (buffet style dining halls and lots of beer), and settling into a long-term relationship (going out to eat is our usual date), I've found myself gaining weight and tired of it. Working out has been frustrating because of my foot injury, so instead I have lost weight in the past by restricting calories. That just made me cranky and really really hangry, so the results never lasted.

I recently graduated college in New York, and moved down to Florida to pursue new things with my psychology and business background. While in school I always used the excuse of not having enough time to work out between studying, working, and hanging out with my friends, but things are different here. I don't really know anybody yet and am in the process of looking for a job, so with all of my new-found free time I am left with no excuses. I want to land a new job, go out and meet people, and create a nice new life here, but it all starts with building confidence and feeling good about myself, which is my first main quest.

I've been following NF for a few months now and have made a few small changes here and there, but it's time to commit and get serious! I am SO excited to be joining this community, and look forward to hearing all of your stories and following everybody's progress :)
