Scottzkee
I will work 3 days a week and squat/deadlift and on other days either overhead press/push press and do pull ups. My problem is I do not know what is better to use. I am inclined to use the overhead press but a friend of mine who uses the nerf fitness guides said it told him to do the push press. He has been seeing good results with that for what it's worth. Is the push press a good substitute? Quote Link to comment
El Exorcisto
Strict press... The push press is important when training for something like Strongman or Crossfit where the goal is to move the weight overhead. If your goal is to get stronger then the more dificult movement is the best, meaning the strict press. Push pressing is cheating by using leg drive to move the barbell past the sticking point instead of getting strong enough to muscle it through. 1 Quote My training log Spoiler 2016 Hudson Valley Strongman presents Lift for Autism (USS), April 16th Contest report 2015 Hudson Valley Strongman presents Lift for Autism (NAS), April 18th Contest report Eighth Annual Vis Vires Outdoor Strongman Competition (Unsanctioned), August 1st Contest report "What's the difference between an injury that you train around and an injury that you train through?"
