WI_Dan
...as a polite way to introduce myself. I found this forum while researching information about powerlifting. The chiropractor I go to suggested powerlifting as an efficient way to replace fat with muscle. A brief history, 25 years ago I weighed 226 pounds. 20 years ago I weighed 150 pounds. 10 years ago I weighed 220 pounds and had type 2 diabetes. 1 year ago I weighed 227 pounds. Today I am down to 175 pounds. The initial reason I lost the weight is to shut up my doctor. He did not think I could improve my numbers without the use of additional medication (I take meds for the diabetes and high blood pressure now). The last blood test I had showed all my numbers in the “good†range including my AC1 and my doctor even said that whatever I am doing is working. The plan I have been using is just better eating and walking for an hour 3-5 days a week. I joined a gym because WI weather from December until March makes walking outside a miserable experience and thought if I am at gym I might as well take advantage of the equipment there while I am a member.
