LS_DJ
Finally hit the big 300lb on my back squat today! The rec here at The University of Alabama at Birmingham WASN'T closed, mostly for shelter, but it felt like a nice brisk day for some squats! I've been doing the Stronglifts 5x5 since late November, and I just got up to 300 lbs on the squat, 3x5 (I've lowered my volume to 3x5s, because the weight is getting pretty high). Then I hit 175 bench 3x5 and 150 barbell rows for 5x5Also down to 216 lbs after starting at about 250Woot! 1 Quote Link to comment
Archer
Awesome! What's your deadlift weight? I also lowered my volume around that weight. Stronglifts works great, but once the bar is visibly bending it's probably time to switch to 3x5 Quote Jesse Mattson - Philomath, OR - Rangers Lead The Way!my website my blog Link to comment
LS_DJ
My last DL was 235. I progressed further on squats earlier because keeping my back straight when doing things like bending over took some work to get right, so I started lower on deads. I need to probably start focusing on dead lifts a bit so I can progress to cleans. I just find them more challenging than squats, even though it seems everyone has higher DLs than squats Quote Link to comment
