Superdan042 Posted June 5, 2014 Report Share Posted June 5, 2014 Hey, I'm Dan. I live in Cleveland. I like lifting heavy stuff. I've found that there's no better anger management than squats and deadlifts. I've been following the Stronglifts 5x5 program since January, but I've gotten flaky on it, like maybe only lifting once or twice a week. Also, my diet isn't so hot. It has been better in the past, and I find myself lacking the commitment and consistency to keep things going. I've definitely noticed improvements in muscle mass and strength, but my tummy and love handles aren't going anywhere. As of my last workout:My squats were: 175lbs 5x5My Bench was 13lbs5x5My Barbell Rows were 130lbs 5x5Overhed Press was 115lbs with a couple missed repsDeadlift 220lbs 5x5 I'm here looking for encouragement to help me stay on the wagon. During these challenges, you pick a few goals to work on that will help you improve your life. 6 weeks is usually enough time to let you decide if the new activities are helpful and work for you .... or not. And that's long enough to establish new habits that you can turn into a healthier lifestyle. You'll probably need to address your diet in order to get rid of the tummy and love handles. Otherwise, you'll have great muscle definition ... covered up in stay-puff marshmallow-like stuff. The next challenge starts June 9th. You'd start as a Level 1 Rebel (http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/forum/362-level-1-rebels/) .... which is where you LEARN about all of the stats, guilds, rpg character, and so on as well as working at setting SMART goals. You still get to adopt what works for you, and you can ignore the rest. Some very successful NF people never bother with classes or stat points or race or so on. They just hang out in the guild that suits their goals best. Even MOAR accountability? We have accountability groups of 7 or so people who check up on each other frequently during a challenge.
