Highland Games

Got first place in the Sheaf Toss in the novice/C class at today's Tacoma Highland games!

 

 

"Inside of me there are two dogs. One of the dogs is mean and evil. The other dog is good. The mean dog fights the good dog, all of the time."  When asked which dog wins, he reflected for a moment and replied "The one I feed the most."

I didn't realize it was such a big deal up were in WA.  I guess this region has games almost every weekend.

It usually only happens at my area's Celtic Fest and at a Tartan Fest about 45 miles away.   Then it's only for the few athelets that show up.  So it's really more of a Highland Games expo than true games.  They will let people do some of the events for "fun" but no competitions.
