Introducing myself (again)

Recommended Posts

I'm coming back to you guys because it was so much fun before. I am a computer/sci-fi nerd (Star Trek TNG, then Star Wars 4-6, then Firefly). Currently in the US Army as a Cannon Crewmember. Its fun and a lot of heavy lifting between periods of long downtime. During the downtime I found a way to add on a couple more pounds than I want to carry around. So the goal is to pass the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) with a score that will get me into Special Forces Assessment and Selection (SFAS) course and with luck be selected to be a Special Forces Communications Sergeant. Basically the most bad-ass computer nerd out there. I am currently 27 years old and soon to be 28 and the cutoff for this is 30. I have given my self a year to complete this task. I know this may sound crazy to join Special Forces in 1 year and I have admitted to being a little over weight but with my current fitness level I think I can.

In 2 minutes I can currently do 50 Pushups

In 2 minutes I can currently do 45 Situps

And I can run 2 miles in 17 minutes

That gives me a total of 192 in my age group but only 163 on the 17-21 age scale Special Forces use.

What I need is a little more complex. I need at least 229 on the 17-21 scale with a minimum score of 60 in each event.

Going to start doing Stronglifts 5X5 On Mondays - wends days - Fridays

Interval running on Tuesdays

2 mile run on Thursdays

3 to 5 mile runs on Saturdays
