TibbyUK
Hey All, Been giving the site and forums a read and thought I would get involved! I'm an IT worker in a big firm which has me traveling a lot (although I have luckily been pretty stationary for the past 6 months). I have always been generally active, but it fluctuates based on personal factors in my life. I have joined the site to try and keep myself focused with my gym efforts, and more importantly my diet. I eat well enough during the week, but the weekends wipe out the effort of the week! I hope to bring some value to the forums as well, in terms of encouragement to others and also on a more geeky side, if anyone has any off-topic questions about the IT Industry. Garth
Hello, welcome to the forums. Nice to have another person from the UK onboard. As I'm sure you've noticed from reading the forums, everyone here is super friendly and helpful. You should get involved with the 6 week challenges that get run, I've been finding it a big help with regards to keeping on track. Quote Follow me on Twitter: @garth_green Link to comment
TibbyUK
Yea seems like a really nice community! Thanks for the advice on the 6 week challenge, will give one a go for the start of October I think! (although I am planning a trip to Italy, and it could conflict). Quote Link to comment
Garth
Where in Italy are you looking to go? I went to Sorrento a few years back, when I was about 14 and it was the nicest holiday I've ever been on. The people, food, surroundings and culture were all amazing. Would love to go back again now that I'm a bit older and could appreciate it even more. Quote Follow me on Twitter: @garth_green Link to comment
TibbyUK
My family is Italian, but have never made it out. I have family in Milan so going to head there for a week with the girlfriend.I love Italian food, and love cooking even more. So I hope to combine the two while I'm out there!Plus the wine never goes amiss!Flights aren't too bad, you should check it out.Use a site called: http://www.skyscanner.com for your flights. Then go onto: http://www.airbnb.com to find somewhere to stay for a decent price and different from a hotel. Garth
Well, I hope you have a lovely time on your romantic getaway. I'm a big fan of Italian food too. I worked in an authentic Italian restaurant during my A levels and we'd always sit down for a staff meal at the end of the night. Was a pretty great job in that respect. TibbyUK
Got me jealous now! I only learnt a bit of cooking from my father, but me and the missus have a goal of taking a sabbatical from our jobs and getting a VW camper van and traveling Italy while learning to cook a wide variation of dishes and taking lots of photos!
