Weightlifter in Stilettos
Hi everyone! My name is Genevieve. I'm an Olympic Weightlifter and aspiring fashion model. I recently join this awesome forum. Being the rebellious type, this place seemed like a perfect fit! I have been an athlete for almost 20 years and recently transformed my life, going from 190lbs to 120lbs in 9 months. I did this through the guidance of my incredible Coach Mohamed Makkawy and a sick tenacity to become the best in the world. My story was posted on my gym's website, which is included in my signature. Before and after photos are attached. I empathize with those who struggle with weight loss and motivation, but also resonate with athletes who, despite the challenges of staying fit, keep persevering. I hope my experiences to bring value to the discussions. Looking forward to great convos!G Quote Genevieve Carisse - Athlete and Aspiring Fashion ModelMy body transformation: 190lbs to 120lbs in 9 months with legendary IFBB Pro, Mr. Universe, Mohamed Makkawy.http://www.adelaideclub.com/living-well/inspirational-adelaide-club-member-down-70lbs-her-story-of-before-after-499223www.mohamedmakkawy.com Link to comment

wildross
Do you have a Level 1 thread or a battle log thread going yet? You've probably figured out that the lifters tend to hang out in the Warriors challenge threads. Let me know if you need any help 1 Quote Warriors don't count reps and sets. They count tons. wildross
Ha. So the forum is organized around 6 week challenges (make 3 exercise/fitness goals and 1 life goal and post about it) and split into "Guilds" based on interests. The weightlifters/powerlifters are "Warriors". We used to just jump in where ever we wanted, but as it has gotten bigger, we're trying to organize things a bit so beginners don't get lost. Level 1's are first time participants in the challenges. http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/forum/372-level-1-rebels/ We're encouraging folks to start here, so the various volunteers can find the beginners and give them extra encouragement. There is actually quite a bit of work going on in the background to help people find something they like and stick with it (goal setting, programming, finding a gym, etc, etc) Battle logs were the first tracking mechanism we used before someone had the idea for the challenges. Some/lots of folks still use them as a running account of their fitness work http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/forum/13-daily-battle-logs/ because it fits their style better than the 6 week challenges Current Challenges are here http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/forum/371-current-challenge-july-28th-sept-7th/ FAQ's on all of it here http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/forum/253-rulesfaq/ 1 Quote Warriors don't count reps and sets.
