Hi,

I'm Maureen, fat, unfit and nearly 50 but that's all about to change (well not the 50 bit but hey it's only a number).

I was reasonably fit until I broke my ankle and found being a gym rat too painful. Took up diving as easier on the joints and unfortunately popped my eardrum. (Bet you've guessed I'm accident prone already).

Anyway, middle age spread is spreading far and wide and when the scales hit 199lb I decided to get fit again, 200lb is just not where I want to be.

I started insanity 10 days ago and came across this site while looking for a low carb diet plan. Paleo just seems such a good idea. Although being Irish background, giving up potatoes is going to kill me!

So my 4 week goals:

Finish insanity course,

Continue planks/leaning press ups. (I still cannot do 1 press up).

Walk/jog for 20 minutes 3x a week.

Long term goal is to complete a tough guy challenge next year.

Ps. The scales really do lie. After 10 days on insanity and dieting, I've lost 2 inches off my waist and not a single Lb off the scales, so hardest thing for me is going to be avoiding them every day.
