Audio Book Work Out

Recommended Posts

This is something new I have been toying with. Since here at the academy we are looking to level up our Life-both in body and in mind. I figured why not do both at the same time? I swapped my angst and techno music in exchange for some books on audio I have been wanting to read. The results are suprising! While they dont quite "pump" you uop to get that final rep in, they do however occupy your mind while your body does all the heavy lifting/running.

Anyone else try this?

I do this all the time for my long distance runs, and it works perfectly.

It can be distracting for sprints and lifting where I need more Focus. But for long distance, power walking and stretching etc it is perfect!

I used to do this when weightlifting, but with podcasts.

The benefit of a podcast I found was it didn't really matter if you 'zoned out' for a minute or two.

I used to enjoy listening to the 'Order 66' (about the Star Wars RPG) - filled in my gym time with extra nerdiness and then made me want to go home and write Star Wars adventures... pity I had no one to play them with :(

Anyway, yeah I used to do it and enjoyed it. I don't anymore but that is mainly because the GST I do is more intense than Weightlifting so I can't see it working... but I might give it a go. Thanks Kurainoken!
