Another brick in the wall

Recommended Posts

Hi.

My name is Barry and I have been lurking on the forum and the blog for a few weeks now. The advice and support is great and I have today signed up and bought the rebel guide. I really like the structure of the guide and the workouts are perfect.

My story is non-dissimilar to those on here already. I was a big kid at school and it carried on into my adult life. Food was a comfort and drink soon followed me down the same path. Before long I was out late drinking with friends and finishing of the night with take-away and the like.

Then in late 2009 / early 2010 I started training with my local rugby team. It was hard going at first as I was at my biggest 24st 4lbs (340lbs) and something had to change. Over the last 18 months I have lost 4st (56lbs) and I still want to lose more. For those who are familiar with rugby, my position is a prop (like I would be on the wing right). For those who are not too sure, I am the one in the scrum trying to push the other guys off the ball.

I have hit a wall and I was in search of something to help me push to be the best prop I can be. So this brings me back to nerd fitness and you guys. I will be starting a thread on her detailing my workouts and results. I also have a blog that I have recorded the last 18 months on. I have put a link in my sig.

So today I started the beginners work out and I loved it. Here’s to the journey and all the people I meet along the way.

Cheers

Barry
