He had forged alliances as strong as iron with the greatest Generals to grace this world in centuries. Together they had faced off countless attacks, and their combined territories accounted for the majority of the known world. He had united all of the clans of Albion under his banner, by working until he thought he would fall from exhaustion. Pressing, pushing and pulling as much as possible to ensure he had an army so large it drank the rivers dry in his passing. Holding the wastes against the constant assault of forces sent by the Dark Gods kept his people strong and ensured his armies were always on stand by, even as the lands to the South relaxed in to frailty and senility. The peace of their lands bought by the blood of his soldiers. Yes, it's set in the fantasy and not the 40K (space) setting and I was also glad to see there's a lot of empire management and map conquest along the massive battles.
