EricMN Posted October 3, 2014 Report Share Posted October 3, 2014 I started a small-group fitness class called Focus Group with my trainer on April 1 of 2013. I weighed 228, which was down from my high in August of 2011. I have no idea what that number was. It was at least 240 and probably above 250. This week I weighed in at 189, the first time I've officially been below 190 since... um... 1995, I think. In August of 2011, I could barely run down the driveway without becoming winded. This month, I have run three races, including two 5k runs and last weekend's IL Spartan Sprint, where I successfully completed all but three of the obstacles. At my 2010 physical, my doctor threatened to medicate me for high blood pressure and warned me that I was pre-diabetic and about to lose the "pre" tag. During this year's physical our discussion revolved around joint and tissue health for middle-aged men who are frequent exercisers.
