longklaw
I'm 35 years old and I've been overweight since around the 3rd grade. A few years ago I was in the obese category. I was having back and knee problems and I was close to being diabetic. My family has a history of diabetes. I saw a show that featured teenagers who were diabetic or would be dead soon if they didn't change there life and I decided it was time for me to change my life. Over the next 2 years I made gradual changes to my eating habits and I started exercising again. I lost 90 lbs. I was still overweight, but I at least could wear medium-sized clothes again. Then I moved across country for a new job. I was working longer hours. I didn't have time to work out or prepare proper meals. I regained 40 of the lbs I lost. Now, I'm trying to get back on track. I'm eating healthy again and I have a new working routine. I've lost 15 of the 40 lbs I regained. I know that it's easier when you've got people to support you. I hope to make connections with some other nerds who are trying to do the same thing. Quote Link to comment
