level zero. looking for party

Ok. Here's one place I'll be completely honest. I am36 years s old, 5'11, 270 lbs. Just last year I was 240. 7 years ago, I was 190. I dtont know what happened. I am badly asthmatic, have very little stamina, and need to make a change.

I am also a full time student.

I LARP, and I play table top RPGs. I read comics , aaand...though I love sci-fi; technology and I do NOT get along. If there were masters and apprentices... where do I find them?

My primary motivation? The athsma is interfering with my spell casting abilities in LARP... I am too out of breath by the time we get to the next encounter, that I am unable to give it my all...or keep up with the boys. And we cant have that.

A couple things:

 

Is your asthma being treated/under management by a doctor?

 

What's your goal? Your main one. If you had to pick one thing, what would it be? Increase stamina? Be able to make it through all your encounters without getting out of breath? Reduce the number of asthma attacks you have? Pick one. Yes, just one. Then think about all the things you could do to work toward that goal. Small things. Not "give up all chocolate, desserts, and fried foods" but, smaller, like "Only have one 20 oz soda per day) or whatever your particular step is. Then, pick a couple of your small things to work on/make habits. Once you've got those down, move on to the next.

 

As for finding/help support, this board is a great place to get just that. Today is the first day of the first six week challenge of the year. Head on over to the challenge board and post up your goals in the recruit area. Or, make a battle log for daily journalling. Or head over to the accountabilibuddies section to find a smaller group of like-minded nerds to chat with.
