New to this Nerd Fitness thing

Howdy, this is Snaga. I've been on my own personal fitness journey/struggle since I was a kid.

Growing up the fat kid is about as fun as you'd imagine. Got to college, got in the gym, and didn't get fit actually (the diet still sucked) but I got social, which is always fun. I lifted weights, played basketball, taught boxing for a couple years, ran about 3 miles a day. I was fairly active, but still a bigger guy. I called myself the fat phenom. Then I started playing football, semi-pro weekend warrior kind of stuff, but intense as far as I was concerned.

Then I got a girlfriend, and with came the sudden stop in activity and the gaining of a lot of weight. Which we did together. Moved around, tried to remain active, and not watch what I ate, not really. So, the weight stayed.

I'm back to lifting, and now do a martial art. AND I'm watching the diet. Which, apparently, is always the hardest part. I don't know where this will end up, but I'm open to anything.

Diet is definitely one of the hardest parts. Portion control is a big must, at least to me. Good luck!
