laughingwarlock
Well, not really. But I cosplayed him a lot last year! Not only at Anime Boston and PAX EAST, but also at a techno music festival called Mysterland and an Anamanaguchi show. He's a fun character to channel because of all the positiveithy and boundless optimism he has in his pursuit of peak physical fitness. Last spring I had been taking martial arts for around 2 years and worked up to purple belt in the Kenpo style. I also started adding to that and got really serious about weight training and began to see some serious muscle growth. I was eating a LOT but I was also working out a lot, so I was able to justify the weight I was putting on by thinking I was in the middle of a "dirty bulk." Theeeeeeeeeen winter rolled in and my area of the Northeast got 104 inches of snow. I relocated for work and so there was now an hour commute to get to my dojo (consequently I stopped going). I changed gyms and decided to be a cheapskate and went to Planet Fitness, where the free weight options are limited at best. And with the weather as bad as it was I spent way too many nights staying in, eating pizza, and playing video games. I lost a lot of my progress, gained 20 pounds, and I'm not at all proud of it. With spring around the bend and me getting the urge to work out again, I figured than rather than using a workout app I'd use a support system of actual human beings who use their nerdy passions as a motivation rather than a detriment. I'm looking to get back into it, STAY in it, and have fun! Quote Workout Log is here ======> CLICK ME!!! Presea
Welcome! Your thread title made me smile, as DBZ brings me so much happy nostalgia. I tend to fall of the wagon every winter, so I can definitely relate. I'm already thinking ahead to how I can avoid it next winter, and I'm saving some fun-looking indoor fitness things to try when the weather turns bad again (for example, I never even imagined doing a handstand, but there are lots of people on here who train to do it - sounds like a fun indoor activity with little to no equipment required!). Anyways, good luck with your fitness quest! Just don't try to go from zero to 500 times gravity training right off the bat! laughingwarlock
Thanks Presea! I've been lurking the forums a bit and I see that I'm not too far off from the next six week challenge. I've gotten a basic idea how that works, but I'll take the time before then to get a real concrete idea on how to take on some good challenges in mind that will push myself but be within my limits. I think weight loss will DEFIANTLY be apart of it but I want to lose a healthy amount that won't lose too much muscle, because I still have a bit from my work last year. Maybe some Tabata training?
