emclinux
I believe that I have finally found a Fitness site that I enjoy and where I can fit in. A bit about my self, I was in the US Air Force and left about a few years ago to peruse more of a programming career in the civilian world and in doing so gained a few pounds (It truly is amazing what trading forced PT with a chair does to a body). Currently I have been working out for the last few months and have lost about 5% body fat and have regained muscle that I have lost. Currently the plan that I am doing is:Sunday - 3 Mile run and 200 Situp challenge.Monday - 3 Mile Bike - 100 Pushup challenge. Tuesday - 3 Mile run and 200 Situp challenge.Wednesday - 3 Mile Bike - 100 Pushup challenge.Thursday - 3 Mile run and 200 Situp challenge.Friday - 3 Mile Bike - 100 Pushup challenge.http://hundredpushups.com/http://www.twohundredsitups.com/~EmcLinux Quote Since last smoke: (Created by Catspaw)http://htmlpad.org/emclinuxnosmoke/ Link to comment

emclinux
You are welcome. I will be completely honest that it means a lot to me (and most vets that I know) when someone says thank you. If anyone has any questions about the military (tips on joining, what the training was like or just general questions) about anything I would be glad to answer them. I did a stay in Iraq and most of my time was in Georgia as a Computer Networker. I have a very positive look at everything so it may sound as if everything was fun and easy because this is the way that I am but I will answer any question as honestly as I can. Dantes
Welcome! Thank you as well even though I'm only from little old New Zealand. Not everyone may believe in the actions of the US government but on an individual level your heroism is something to be admired and commended. How long have you been doing the 100 Push Up challenge? How sore do you find your pectorals are after completing the sets? I'm thinking about supplementing it to my existing workout regime but I'm a bit cautious of over-training. Quote Link to comment
emclinux
Pushups is not so much as a chest workout as a general body workout. You can look at it as a plank and arm, chest and back workout rolled into one. As far as muscle soarness it is not bad because of the wide range of muscles that you use during one rep. When I was in Pushups were explained as an upper body endurance test more than a strength test. Quote Since last smoke: (Created by Catspaw)http://htmlpad.org/emclinuxnosmoke/ Link to comment
