CapN_Tommy_Sunshine
Anyone swing clubs here? I have been swinging light Indian clubs for a couple of months, and this weekend put together a couple of heavier clubs. My Indian clubs are two pounds each, and the new clubs are seven. That doesn't sound like much, but since the weight is awkward, it seems like a lot more weight than it actually is. I have been getting pretty good light workouts/warm ups with the light clubs. I used the heavier clubs this morning, and got my butt kicked. I definitely had to engage my core a lot more with the seven pounders. Club swinging really appeals to my inner, D&D/RPG playing nerd. I usually played some sort of tank, preferably a barbarian, so swinging clubs works well for me, as far as keeping my workout fun. Quote Link to comment
MMyers
I'm not sure if you mean using the clubs in like a combat or conditioning training sort of way, but Ross Enamait has wrote about Sledgehammer training as a conditioning tool. Here's the link: http://www.rosstraining.com/articles/sledge.html Quote Link to comment
CapN_Tommy_Sunshine
Yes, I have been using clubs as a conditioning tool. Here is a website that has a lot of information:http://www.clubbell.tv/A lot of it is ads for his own product, but there are plenty of exercise examples on the internet and youtube. CapN_Tommy_Sunshine
Plus, the Iron Sheik uses them, so they have to be cool:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVo6vyL932M Quote Link to comment
MMyers
Yeah, that's cool too. Burpees and club/sledgehammer drills sound like some awesome supersets, I might have to try them. Quote Link to comment
