I've just been watching from the shadows. But no more! I have been trying to do this whole getting-fitter-and-eating-better thing by myself but nothing I do lasts for long. I cannot do this by myself. So here I am, entering the light! Who I am:A 21 year old petite womanAircraft mechanicAlaskan Outdoor EnthusiastSci-fi and fantasy fan (LOTR is the best!)Thinker, Writer, DoerI like to cook and sew as well Where I am:About 8-10 lbs over my optimum weightChronic snackerSweet addict (especially chocolate baked goods)Physically weak (a downfall in my job)Run 10 minute mileCan do 40 pushups3 pullups Where I want to be (short term):117-120 lbsRun 8 minute mileNo snackingNo nasty processed foodsControlled limited consumption of desserts100 pushups10 pullups Where I want to be (long term:)6 pack absRun 6-minute mileDo the 100 burpee challenge (do 100 in 10 min)Do 10 muscle upsMaintain healthy eating habitsGo wheat and dairy free (intolerances) Someday I dream of doing the 300 Challenge, although I don't know if I ever can cuz I'm a 5'2" small person. That's a great plan, with good, measurable long term and intermediate goals. http://www.hundredpushups.com/is a great place to go for help on getting to a hundred pushups. The scouts can help you with the 6 minute mile. Abs are about body fat %, losing fat and building muscle will get you there. I could probably do it in like 20 or 30 minutes. Dang it. Now I've just challenged myself.
