Krizbee
Yesterday, I touched my toes for the first time in 12 years! I went through a really quick growth spurt when I was younger that transformed me from a little gymnast that could fold in half to something that resembled a young tree, with about the same amount of flexibility. Since then, despite stretching constantly, I have never been able to get past the middle of my shins.... .....UNTIL NOW. I've been doing wee bits of yoga every day for the past few months, and lo! I finally got to the point where I can touch my toes, even though it's just with my fingertips. All it took was persistence and some more active movements than just static stretching (aka yoga and lunges). My new goal for 2012 is to be able to put my hands flat on the ground! Anybody else have similar success stories? I hope so, I feel pretty ashamed at not having been able to touch my toes for over a decade... Quote Link to comment
