I repurpose a lot of stuff from Goodwill and other thrift shops, especially for costuming. I find things with fabrics I really like and pull them apart and put them back together again, sometimes combining two or three different pieces of clothing. I also make sure to look around for fabric pieces at Goodwill, as well as curtains. I made a McGonagall cloak this past summer with $6 Goodwill fabric (was about 6 yards heavy interior designer fabric).
