Hey there! My names Amber, I'm 23. I live in Texas. I have a love for comics, and animals. I work a pretty hectic schedule.

Recently I became very unhappy with what i was seeing in the mirror. I have always struggled with my weight, and depression. But recently due to sickness i have hit an all time low. I now weigh the most i have ever weighed coming in at 218, and I'm not proud. I finally want to get my life in order. I want to be Healthy and happy not just thin.

I have started by throwing out all my junk/processed/high in sodium food. I have taken up running, and body weight training, and I'm always open to new work outs. I really want to learn a martial art or boxing. but i'm not sure where to start. All in all i'm pretty new to all of this, and i could use any advise on how to slim down and tone up. Also any recipes/food websites would be greatly appreciated :)

Not only that, but i don't have a lot of moral support in my real life. I just recently had to move for a job, and I'm about to make another. So I wouldn't mind finding a few friends or a support group.

Hey lady -

My name's Jessie and I'm in a similar boat hoping to turn that ship around and head for happier lands. I weighed in at 202 pounds a month ago and thanks to EASING into the Paleo diet I've deleted 14 pounds off my weigh-in. I've struggled with weight issues since I was in elementary school - and depression issues since then as well. I had a mini epiphany thanks to therapy with a really great lady and something just clicked. I was tired of almost everything in my life - it was stagnant and it felt like I hadn't THOUGHT in ages. I would DEFINITELY recommend finding a good therapist. Especially since you're new to an area and that can tend to make people feel super isolated. Due to a really shitty event in my life this past October I sought further help from a psychiatrist who prescribed a mild anti-depressant. I DO NOT have a medical degree and just a sad little bachelors in psychology so I'm by no means an expert and I don't mean to step on anyone's toes if they are against medication but for me it has worked. Start with therapy though - even if you loathe talking to people about your problems like I do.

I'd say you've found the perfect place for friends and support! It's pretty friendly up in here. Plenty of advice and opinions!
