Now when I first started I did not even own a scale and weighed 237 on the balance scale at the Y in the evenings after dinner when I worked out. I currently own one of the waist high balance scales that I got at Goodwill for $5. The one at the Y is about 1 1/2 - 2 pounds heavier. I could have been farther along by now but I spent way too much time on the elliptical not trying other machines and not focusing as much on my diet as I should have been .
