ElectricTrailRunner
Question, should the pickiest eater be the one that cooks? Quote Link to comment
Emissary2Ornj
A) Yes, but not the only cook, who cooks all the time. Un-picky eaters should be allowed to share the burden/privilege, and get to cook things they like to eat. B ) Yes, but there must be a compromise reached that they are willing to also cook things they don't like eating a good portion of the time so that everyone else isn't forced to only eat picky-eater stuff. C ) No, but a compromise must be made to decide whether the un-picky cook is going to accommodate the picky eater, and how often; or if the picky eater just provides their own meals. D) No, and picky eater has to make a list of new-to-them foods/recipes they'd be willing to try for un-picky cook to make once a week or so, in effort to broaden their appetite. I honestly can't pick a definitive answer here. I had a work partner once (for a few years) who put herself on a special diet. Our meals were mostly provided for us by the people we lived with, so her coworkers often had to eat her diet, too. She wasn't cooking, but it ended up she was kind of dictating what everyone else was eating, unless people wanted to fix 2 separate meals. She didn't necessarily expect everybody to eat what she ate, but it happened that way by default. Weird situation, on a few different levels. I 100% agree with this. We don't know people's struggles or dietary needs. For me, I struggle with binge eating and eating too much sugar, to the detriment of my health, so I've enlisted the help of my room mate to help keep me accountable. They're kind of like my sponsor, LOL! But I'm working on eating with no judgment towards myself and remembering that food has no moral value. 1 Quote -S t a r . ElectricTrailRunner
Sorry that was a caregivers lament, and that daily battle has me beaten down, however I am starting to talk to someone next week. 1 Quote Link to comment
