  1. Challenge Wrap I'm not sure what happened last week. I just lost all motivation to do my goals. I didn't hit a single day where I did all of my hip physio, I did my teeth less than I should, I tracked calories but I did not stick to my limits. About the only things I was any good at were exercise and being alive. Where does that leave me? 18/35 = 7XP Well no wonder my hips are starting to hurt! Must try harder. 18/35 = 5XP I found that if I'd lost the point for this because I didn't do hip stretches I didn't do this. That might be because of a common cause, but I think I need to disconnect this from other challenge goals or take it out altogether to find out. 18/35 = 5XP I actually worked out every day, and this is going really well - the score is a result of the challenge format. 15/35 = 4XP Despite a low score, this hasn't been too bad. I've lost 2# this challenge, which is less than I would like but is still the right direction. I've been seriously hungry this week and eaten a bit too much, or this might be better. 15/35 = 4XP I was pretty mindful of this, and I'm reasonably happy with it overall. I've also recently invested in an art "RPG" to give me something to focus drawing practice on, so I'm happy that I can get some cool stuff done (as well as ALL THE D&D!). Again the score is a result of the challenge format more than anything. I think I did pretty well on all of these. Of them, the one that I've thought about most is being less judgemental - not just about Coronavirus but in life in general. I think it's generally a good life lesson. Anyway, that's a wrap! I have no idea what I'm doing for next challenge, but I'll create one tomorrow and then ask for suggestions on what to put in it!
  2. Well thank you! Last week I tanked a bit on this challenge, but lots of D&D is still very much going on!
  3. This is a really good idea - I've never been good at that but it sounds really useful.
  4. I love the idea of themed marathon weeks, that sounds like a lot of fun.
  5. And a badass lizardman at that! Following along, good to see you sticking with the running dude.
  6. Sounds like you uncovered done great stuff in therapy. Be kind to yourself. I love this thought!
  7. Great job on the week! I can believe those jeans used to fit you, that's a cool reminder of how far you've come.
  8. Oh you sweet, summer child...
  9. ...and I thought I was busy with D&D
  10. Congratulations on the weight loss, that's a really solid trend. I think you're right about the house, it's probably better that you're living with people right now - it's good to see people every day. With that said there's nothing to stop you still keeping an eye out for houses; even if you put in an offer somewhere now you wouldn't have moved before restrictions are lifted (assuming these things take as long to go through where you are as they do here).
  11. Another good couple of days. Tuesdayevening was D&D, our Mummy's Mask game. We met the 'anti-party', a rival group of adventurers who had plotted to kill our previous (now deceased) party. They attacked us, so we destroyed them in a relatively successful manner. I'm liking playing my bloodrager - he's big, arrogant, and angry, it's great in combat and generally just nice to play someone fairly simple. Overall a great session. All goals hit on Tuesday, a few beers while playing D&D but within calories. Yesterday evening we had a barbeque in the garden - the first of the year - and I spent a lot of time prepping D&D stuff for the weekend. Again all goals were hit. This morning I've worked out - added handstand pushups to the standard programme of habdstands, weighted pullups, hangboarding and stretching. The handstand pushups went ok - I had a cushion under my head that I measured at 4 1/2" (~113mm), and accumulated 23 reps over 10 minutes. Tonight is more D&D, tomorrow night is poker, and at some point I need to find time to prep for our Ranger D&D game on Saturday.
  12. ♥️ ♥️ ♥️ I'm the same - I would be constantly looking at my phone without something like this.
  13. Apparently I do Yeah, that makes sense man, it's been a big upheaval. I did the opposite and focused on workouts obsessively to try and keep a sense of normality. Glad you're back to it anyway.
  14. How's the running going dude? You enjoying it?
  15. Have you tried pomodoro timing for breaks? It's a good way to add structure and give you some good break time - if structure is what you need.
  16. I in no way deserve any part of that comparison, but thank you very much mate. For anyone who wants more D&D to watch, I'd also recommend High Rollers https://m.youtube.com/channel/UC3qtZRMtWNaD2Q96STxgOrA . They're not professional voice actors so it's a bit more like a normal D&D group (if there is such a thing!), but they're no less entertaining.
  17. As in without using you legs, or you climbed it drunk? Because the latter is very piratey
  18. Yesterday was a good day. Worked out in the morning - handstand flutter kicks, weighted pullups, hangboarding, l-sit progressions, stretching. Work was ok, busy but manageable. In the evening I spent quite a bit of time writing up Sunday's D&D game on here, and then a little while prepping for next week. There's a lot more to prepare for as the characters head into a town full of people, as opposed to the cave with 5 rooms and one entrance that they've spent the last 3 sessions in! After that I made fried rice for the first time. First I lightly scrambled 3 eggs, and set those to the side. I fried onions, carrot and sugar snap peas until soft, then added Sunday's leftover roast pork and cooked through. Threw in a tablespoon of frozen ginger, a couple of crushed cloves of garlic, and three sliced spring onions. After a minute of stirring that through I added rice (which I had pre-cooked yesterday) and the scrambled egg, a lot of soy sauce and a little sesame oil. I fried the whole thing through and served. It was delicious, which is good because it was also today's lunch. After dinner we watch High Rollers - Curse of Strahd, I did some inking on WW's gnome ranger, and I did my hip physio. Teeth were done, exercise done, calories easily on target at 2,363, and tons of alive time. * * * I also got some good news today - I passed my last essay for a professional qualification module I'm doing! I was a bit nervous about it as I would fail the whole module with no chance to resubmit if I failed this, so really relieved it's over with (and relieved that I get a few weeks before I have to start studying again!).
  19. The wolves... I'll talk to you guys about the wolves sometime if you want; they're one of the more interesting decisions you have to make in that cave really.
  20. This is pretty much the golden rule - as long as everyone's having fun then you're winning. Yeah, I wouldn't usually run a one-shot with level 1 characters. Level 1 is good for establishing characters and making long term achievements feel epic. It is not particularly good for quick, exciting games.
  21. Trouble is that high level PCs are basically gods. If a level 1 party pulls that shit they get arrested and you get an interesting new storyline. If a level 20 party do it then they kill everyone easily. As level 20 the party can go toe-to-tentacle with the Kraken, they're not phased by the chieftain and his retinue. I wouldn't stretch out the fight though - nothing wrong with ending a session early if you need to prepare something new. One-shot games are often more railroad-y than long campaigns for that reason - you need to get to the plot quicker and you have less time to improvise.
