Hi

I've been here off and on for more than a few years. Depression and anxiety issues usually get the better of me. The truth is I lack a support network of any kind and social anxiety makes it very very difficult to reach out.

What's different now is that I am in therapy. I got the idea that a lot of what I'm working on in therapy would fit nicely in the framework of the rebellion the the fitness challenges. Even if the bulk of my focus is on mental fitness over physical fitness... For now.

Here's a link to my daily battle log that I've just started:

Science fiction is an existential metaphor, that allows us to tell stories about the human condition. Isaac Asimov once said: "Individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinder critics and philosophers of today, but the core of science fiction, its essence has become crucial to our salvation, if we are to be saved at all."

Welcome back, Space_Elf! Best of luck with your goals... I've seen a lot of mental health/self-care challenges going around on NF lately, so you're in good company. It's all about feeling better about yourself, in whatever form that takes.

Let us know if you need anything! Since you're respawning I'm sure you know your way around the forum pretty well, but there were some changes around Jan '16 so if it's been that long since you've been by you might want to refamiliarize.

Take care of yourself and keep up the good work! You'll get there!

Thanks for the advice, I have noticed some changes... I thought the four week challenges used to be six weeks? As long as the people stay friendly, everything will be manageable.
