Hrunter
I have a friend who's looking to get fit. Finally I can recruit someone! I'm kind of curious where to get him started, article wise.Suggestions, rebels? Quote Link to comment
joeyb
What's he/she looking for? Motivation? Dieting mostly? Exercise mostly? Body weight? Weights? Running?I'd point him to this page:http://nerdfitness.com/blog/top-posts/That should give him/her a lot of reading material in whichever areas he's interested in. For motivation, I'd have him/her check out Saint's/Staci's story on that page. For dieting, they should probably read the paleo stuff plus some articles at Mark's Daily Apple. There are bodyweight routines on that page. If they want to run, I suggest looking into couch 2 5k. AKLulu
Maybe just the "About" section would be a good general overview on what the place is about. Also, I don't know what said friend is into, but maybe something from the Free Resources page would be of interest? Rooks
I'd start with these 3.http://nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/03/03/game-of-life/http://nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/11/10/healthy-eating/#comment-464093987http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2009/10/26/how-to-not-suck-at-working-out/But really anything that's up in the Free Section is good info. I haven't read any of Steve's articles that I didn't pick up something from. Quote Link to comment
Corbab
Paleo is super-easy to explain, and I like Steve's post as much as anyone's. In terms of workout specifics, I'd go with the Beginner Bodyweight -- solid, but not too much to scare anyone off. Just make sure not to hit him over the head with all the information at once, especially if he's starting slow.Oh, and get him on the forums so he can find out his own stuff!
