sumdawgtwigg
I have a issue with boredom. Like most, I really hate it. Some days no matter what I do, I can't shake it. The usual play video games, read, work out, etc, just does nothing. So, I thought it would be interesting for us to see what others do when they get bored. My top things to do (if it works) is :ReadVideo gamesMoviesHikeRunClick on just about everything on the forumsAs you can see my list is very run of the mill. I really would like to find some new activities. lol "It's always the ones that don't do anything that try to bring you down" - Henry Rollins "There is no meantime, there is only now" - The Ditty Bops Trail Blazing Elf Ranger Sumdawgtwigg Level 3 STR-3 DEX-4 STA-4 CON-3 WIS-5 CHA-2 Fitocracy My Game Blog DO IT CHALLENGE! 'Roos
Find a new hobby - build complicated death machines, save some puppies, take up knitting, renovate your house, adopt some kids - there's tons you could do. I guess the question is, what makes you happy? Because no matter what, if you're not doing something that brings you joy you will feel 'bored' and unfulfilled. For me it's sailing, swing dancing, sewing, cooking and writing. If I'm feeling that bored/wrung out feeling, I can do one of those and usually end up feeling a lot better. Link to comment
Rebel Pilot Gar
I read, surf the internet, draw, watch movies or documentaries (if I'm really bored I watch cartoons). If its nice outside I go hiking/biking/walking/running. If my boredom is the lethargic version where I just kinda feel like crap, I'll go take a nap for a few hours and that usually fixes it. Librarian of Doom
I...think I remember what boredom feels like. I vaguely remember feeling this in the past, but not since I had kids .In all seriousness, you have great suggestions here. sumdawgtwigg
@roos I really like the idea of making death machines. Swing Dancing? My g/f has tried to teach me swing dancing for awhile. I'm not very good at it. My feet, or my mind, just aren't made to dance, haha.@garjan I love documentaries. Have you seen spirit of the marathon? Great. @ Librarian lol do you ever miss boredom? My favorite creative thing to do is to fix/restore vintage enduro motorcycles. I'm working on one at the moment. However, my limited cash flow keeps me from doing this all the time. So, it sort of comes in bursts. 'Roos
Dude, first off - NEVER let your significant other teach you to dance. Recipe for a breakup, that (and disappointment). Second, I've seen people who couldn't manage to walk a straight line, learn to dance - it is not beyond anybody' abilities. Rebel Pilot Gar
@sumdawgtwigg I tend to watch mostly nature, environmental and history documentaries... but I'll put Spirit of the Marathon on my list. I'm always late for things like this. I only just started watching House last year as well. Hooked! If you like House I'd say you'll probably like CSI as well. The show is pretty much the same format. There's always a main case, with another smaller case on the side and it always takes them the length of the episode to solve it and at some point someone will have an epiphany. You don't really need to have watched previous ones as there isn't really a big story arch and every now and then they throw in a bit of a comedy episode. I'm catching up on some of the last series that they show when I get home from work and on Friday's are the brand new Ted Danson episodes. Win! I'm actually excited that the boyfriend is out on Friday night and I can catch up on all the CSI I missed while I was on holiday. I prefer the Las Vegas episodes to the Miami and New York ones. Probably because I'm more used to the characters. And Horatio Kane (the guy with the one liners and sunglasses) gets a bit on my nerves. I might give Law and Order a go as well as I'm really getting in to cop shows recently. Link to comment
