laughingwarlock
Neil Gaiman. Hands down. Not only is he a great writer who knows how to work with tone, humor, drama, dialogue, and plot... but he also has an ungodly amount of knowledge with mythologies ranging from Superheroes to Greek Gods. Man is a beast. He's been only writing short stories recently so I've sort of fallen off of his work, but I love his Sandman series. If you're not counting comics... then probably American Gods. Master Blackhawke
I live, eat and breathe the late Douglas Adams's Hitchhiker's Guide series, may Douglas rest in peace; but right now I'm reading "I Thought My Father Was God - And Other Short Stories" from NPR.
