Dragon
During the last 6-week challenge, I was training for a charity 5k race. The race was after work on Wednesday.I finished in 23:47, a full five minutes faster than I achieved in training for the event. I also beat the rest of the guys from my team at the office, including some seasoned runners.I credit the faster time to training on hills in the forest whereas the course was perfectly flat. That, and the psychology of running with 850 or so other people.Good fun Character - Challenge Link to comment

Denny
Isn't it awesome how you manage to boost yourself to 110% when you have people running beside you? curryfiend
Congratulations! I'm running my first 5k in November. I'm super nervous but really excited! I am totally going to run on the hills I usually go cycling, thanks for the tip. BeigeTurtle
Wow, that is a FANTASTIC time! Also good to hear about the benefits of hill training. Where I run it can also get a little hilly, so I hope I get some of those advantages, too!
