kombimankenny
I've been off these forums for a while because I've been at the Royal Australian Navy recruit school for the last 3 months. We finally passed out (graduated) last Friday! We got to do a big parade in front of our family and friends. The icing on the cake was I took out the dux of the intake award.Over the time I've learnt to march, tie ropes, stop leaks, fight fires, survive at sea, shoot weapons, get tear gassed, and pushups (lots and lots of pushups). Without a doubt its the hardest thing I've ever done in my life, but also the biggest sense of achievement, especially after coming from a boring desk job. I've learnt what I can accomplish when the chips are down and surprised myself at how much I've done. From here it's straight on to category training, which is basically my job specific training as a communicator, and getting @WarriorAmy and the kids moved down here as soon as possible. Maledictus
Congratulations, most of my family that went into the armed services had a thing about mud but one or two were sailors and thoroughly enjoyed it. Awesome
Congrats. I joined the Navy years ago (left after basic) but the training was probably the hardest thing I've ever done. Yet also the most enjoyable. good luck with what comes next Link to comment
