It is great to learn the basics and the grammatical structure of a language to help you, but most effective way to learn a new language is by observing other people speak it. That is why you can have one parent or partner speak a language, and it is so hard to learn still. TV or movie in that language are a great tool if you are not around more than one person speaking the language.

I've always wanted to study different languages so a few weeks ago I started up on Duo Lingo. Right now I'm studying German, French, and Spanish - at least the basics. I've always secretly wanted to learn Vulcan and Klingon, however...

I read somewhere the other day that DuoLingo was adding Klingon. I was rather hoping they'd add Japanese :(

Duolingo is working on a Klingon and Dothraki (Game of Thrones) modules.

They're still hush-hush about the Dothraki, but here's the proof:

Perhaps we can get some Rebels learning / teaching Japanese to help kick off the Japanese Incubation on Duolingo?

If any of you want to connect on Duolingo and battle for the leaderboard, I would love to connect with you: https://www.duolingo.com/Chris2Brooks
