Built it up over a few years, going to keep these in the family as heirlooms! Have you seen that LOTR lego tower yet? Looks mad!I love the modular buildings, they're just amazing. The micro build legos are always impressive. And if you're referring to Barad Dur, not until you mentioned it now. And my jaw just HIT THE FLOOR. Storin
I just bought a house and I'm still working out how to furnish/decorate some of the rooms. For the bedroom we have agreed on a Japanese theme - both me and my boyfriend prefer a mattress on the floor to a "proper" bed and the room has a small niche that immediately made me think of tokonoma. The ceiling will likely be a wood frame with panels and I want a wall-sized wardrobe with sliding painted doors. Other elements are a radiator cover made of woven strips of veneer and Japanese paintings made by my dad. I don't plan on having any obviously nerdy/geeky decorations, although I suppose our tabletop gaming collection, my pen & paper rule books and our library of Sci-Fi and fantasy books will be quite visible.Japanese nerdiness is a bit nerdy, but more mainstream acceptable. The best part of having non-nerdy relatives or friends over though is always the collection of RPG books I love explaining that. My wife and I are going to buy our first house probably next spring, so congratz! Storin: Lvl 1 AdventurerStr: 2Dex: 6Sta: 3Con: 5Wis: 2Cha: 5Int: 3 Link to comment
SuperUnison
@Storin They're pretty awesome! Kinda like the sets I dreamed of having as a kid. Though I'd never have been able to afford them then! They're a lot of fun to build! Good luck on the house buying next year, my gf and I are likely to do the same! Very much looking forward to furnishing and decorating it ourselves though! I'll admit we take too much pleasure in looking at houses for sale on the internet and laughing at terrible design- show homes seem to be the worst! Just so identical to each other! Link to comment
Storin
I know, I hate the homes in Arizona. If you want a house that has any modern conveniences, it's a tract home and looks like the other 10,000,000 homes in Phoenix. I despise them. I'd rather have something that looks like a house than an adobe gingerbread cutout with huge vaulted ceilings. And they ALL have vaulted ceilings! Do you know how wasteful that is when its 120 degrees?! Storin: Lvl 1 AdventurerStr: 2Dex: 6Sta: 3Con: 5Wis: 2Cha: 5Int: 3 Link to comment
KittyNoir
even though i've yet to frame it and hang it up, i just got one of my favourite EarthBound prints from Fangamer. i'm super exited about it going up on my wall, i've been trying to frame things and generally overall try to get past the POSTERS EVERYWHERE phase of interior decorating... but frames are expensive and bulky and my walls feel empty right now. Tech_Hunter
I'm redesigning my oldest daughter's old bedroom into a library/gaming room, and will be putting Studio Ghibli art in there. I found a very understated Zelda painting on Redbubble that I would like above my bed, but I'm not sure how that will go over with the other occupant! My kitchen is done in chickens, because....I am a bird brain! No, we have a hobby ranch, with chickens......and I like birds, which is what dominates the sitting room. My son's room is not yet drywall taped, so he is covering his wall in Mario, Minecraft, Skyrim, Hobbit, Zelda, and who knows what other posters. He buys one a week. Loren Wade
PrefaceI started this thread for ideas for when I redesigned my living space a while back.I'd love an idea you guys might have to add some nerdy. All I have anymore is the Star Wars stuff on the wall.Maybe what I did can help someone. The minimalist challenge related to this. Here's the original before/afters post. BeforeThis was someone else's room before I got it (art, furniture, and all).Oh, hey chammy! (Adventurer Guild Leader on skype...)I swear, the curtains and art were there when I moved in...My old futon bed. Holla!AfterThe bed and side table with a reading lamp.Desk, curtains, and star wars art. Also you can see my bicycle helmet and Go Ruck backpack on the shelf.Front view of the bed. I suck at making beds. Shush.Closet organization. The drawers are clothes. Top shelf holds keys, cards, coupons, and change. The rest of them hold fitness stuff. On the very top is all of the random stuff I can't throw out like my tough mudder headband, CD-Rs, lacrosse balls, and a conglomeration of necessity cables. And Magic the Gathering. Cause I'm a nerd.Top shelf is projects or "to do"s. External hard drive, papers regarding bills or things I need to ship in the mail. You can see all of the clothes I own, my laundry basket (which is actually a trash can) and my keyboard. The standing desk, complete with external monitor, a fake candle, shelf space, a trash can, and speakers (that's the sub on the bottom). lobro's a druid? twitter | fb Link to comment

cracked_belle
your homes are all so pretty. I'm gonna have to take some photos of mine. it looks like a kid's room. I have posters and stuffed animals all over, pictures printed out and stuck up in every room. my trailer definitely has its own personality. there is never a sudden revelation, a complete and tidy explanation for why it happened, or why it ends, or Why or Who you are. you want one and I want one, but there isn't one. it comes in bits and pieces, and you stitch them together wherever they fit, and when you are done you hold yourself up, and still there are holes and you are a rag doll, invented, imperfect. and yet you are all that you have, so you must be Enough. there is no other way. ― Marya Hornbacher, Wasted: A Memoir of Anorexia and Bulimia Link to comment
Cr33g
I've got a few things... mostly figurines and stuff. A lot of them are gifts, but I do get some myself. My shelves are covered in stuff... I might have too much? I took some photos, check 'em out and let me know what you think. Dante from Devil May Cry 3 (a gift from friends visiting Japan), the Cardboard Tube Samurai from Penny Arcade (a gift), Connor from Assassin's Creed III (a gift), Batman from Batman: Arkham City (came with the collector's edition) and then Commander Shepard, male version from Mass Effect... which I bought. In this shot, you'll see Adam Jensen from Deus Ex: Human Revolution hiding behind the crowd. I got this one with the collector's edition of the game. Down below all of that stuff is... more stuff! Here we've got a massive portrait of Ezio from Assassin's Creed II: Brotherhood (a birthday present), a smaller portrait of Ezio from the same game (collector's edition - bought it), a set of night vision goggles from the collector's edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (bought it), the crazy giant axe guy from Resident Evil 5 (got it for free when I purchased RE5), a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 steel water bottle (got it with MW3 for free) and an original Nintendo Zapper... got that when I was a real little kid. Behind all the novelties is a box containing a unique wedding invitation from two close friends, while up above are all my medals from Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In the next room on another shelf is more stuff... a long replica katana sword (gift), Ezio from Assassin's Creed II (bought that), Ghost Widow from City of Heroes (came with the City of Villains pack), Batman and the Joker from the Blu-Ray's of The Dark Knight Returns, a broken Card Board Tube Samurai (bought it), Link from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (a gift), Kakashi from Naruto (a gift), a hand made Mario mini-figurine (a gift), a Mario money container (a gift), Bayonetta's gun (a gift) and finally, a five star Dragonball (also a gift). I have two Cardboard Tube Samurai's because I originally bought the first one, which my middle brother accidentally broke by moving into the shelf and knocking it over. I originally bought it as something to inspire me with my cartooning. I said it was all good because it was an accident, but my oldest brother felt bad about it, and bought me a new one for my birthday. ]And... that's my nerdy decoration. Link to comment

Basically a big metal toy Sting of course is just very realistic looking plastic (until you turn the light on!). That's the only pic i've got of the living room right now, I always manage to sign on to NF at work. What isn't in the picture is my real sword, which is a Wheel of Time Heron Mark sword. LegoLady45
My house is decorated in a pretty minimalist style. On the walls I only have photographs. Colors are in the cool tones. I am a Lego nerd, and my collection is scattered around. All of the parts and misc. pieces are in bins in my office. For some reason the Death Star is in my bedroom closet. (mostly so my kids won't mess with it). In my living room I have a shelving unit with most of my larger, constructed sets. And on my mantle, a 3 masted Lego ship. I am going to build a Pirate ship and put it alongside, so the sailors have something to do. Link to comment
