Grayfang
Okay, here's the deal- I needlepoint, and therefore have a very large collection of fibers. There are dozens of thread types and hundreds of shades. I recently inherited the card catalog my mom used to hold her threads, but I want to improve the sorting method. The catalog has a 6x5 grid of drawers, and I need a system to sort every shade and hue of thread. Of course, I could decide to sort some of the threads by type, like leathers, velvets, fur-like, etc, and the rest by color. Another option is to sort by thread holder- they come in skeins, around cards, or on rollers. I don't know!So I figured the people to ask are my fellow nerds- any ideas? 30 drawers in a 6x5 block to sort every color and thread type there is- go! maegs
I would sort either by colour, and then by type of thread within each colour, or by type and then by colour. That way it's easy to find the type & colour that you want. Current Challenge Goodreads|Instagram|Ravelry Link to comment
