rbudding
Hey everyone! Just here sharing my excitement for completing my first 5k since I started my fitness resolution. I decided to do the Glow Run in Des Moines. It was a lot of fun, and it wasn't timed, so it was a great way to start because there were no expectations or goals. I did not run the whole thing, but that is ok. I am just a very beginning runner, that is a goal down the road. I just had a good time and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Plus I got a cool t shirt and a medal!! I never expected a medal, especially for a 5k. I know it is only a participation medal, but it is still awesome! I'm gonna buy some of the 3m sticky hooks and display this one (and the many more to come ). It was a great start! "Knowing is not enough, we must apply. sweetleaf5
That sounds like a great first race! Keep it up...I'm a run/walker myself and I did my first run about 5 yrs ago. I love the feeling of accomplishment crossing that finish line! Link to comment
rbudding
Yes it was at night. Was rather cold, about 40 degrees I think. It looks like the kind of run they do all over, it was pretty neat. Thanks for the support! "Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do." --Bruce Lee Link to comment
