100 Push Up Challenge

Recommended Posts

I admit, I'm skipping today (the last workout) and moving back to week 4 on Monday or Tuesday. I'm hoping the second time through these last three weeks will be easier.

One thing I like about the 100pushup program is that if you step back a week or two you still get a good workout because the last set is a max set.

It's much better (in my opinion) to step back a week and crush your next workout than it is to either keep going and not finish the workout, or extend your rest time in order to finish.

To me, the alternative one looks very similar. Slightly, different approach (with the one track, as opposed to the three columns), but similar. (But hey, it could be better.)

So, since I've started over (back at week 4), I've done pretty well. Perhaps not as easy as I thought the restart would be, but I see the improvement. Little by little.

Ya, the workouts are very similar. I just like that they don't pretend that you can go from 5 to 100 in 6 weeks.

Ha. Good point. It's like something you'd hear in a TV ad.

Hey Anivair, are you in week 5? Or did you go back and redo a week or two? Just wondering, because since my restart, that's where I am right now. Day 3 of week 4 was really good, but today was killer. I don't know I'm finding these so rough. (I'm wondering if I'm eating enough.)

I fell back to week three.  Week four was hurting me.

Also, update:  On thursday and friday we ate pretty poorly.  Then on Saturday I literally couldn't even start my workout.  Ouch!  That'll learn me.

So I'm taking a few days off to clean out my system and get my paleo back on track 100%.  I'll either start later this week or next monday back at week 3 and see how it goes.

Yeah, it's funny how much what you eat affects your performance. I guess I've always taken it for granted.

I'll be starting the first week tomorrow, Monday. I've done this once before, I went from 14 to 42 push ups in 6 weeks. This time I'm aiming to get past 50!

Anivair (and anyone else who was doing this for the current six-week challenge), did you max-test yet? I just got 75. That's an improvement from this May (low 60s I think), and I think I'll be trying that alternative one that someone posted about in order to improve even more.

So how'd you do?
